Em. NiME onki sitten jo eeposmaisempi ja yhtyeen kehityksestä 2000-luvun tyyliinsä on kuultavissa merkkejä.
Hyvää pohdintaa, erityisesti Somewhere Far Beyondin osalta. Ja kylläpä se omakin BG-top3 on tuo Tales From The Twilight World, Somewhere Far Beyond & Imaginations From The Other Side; tarkempaan järjestykseen niitä ei enää parane laittaa kun menevät niin fiiliksen mukaan ainakin viimeksimainitun ja Tales From The Twilight Worldin osalta.

Minun kohdallani bändi on aina kärsinyt huonoista soundeista. Nyt on vallalla niin järjetön more is more -tuottamismalli, että kaikki vanhempi, suht luomusti levylle saatettu kama kuulostaa ihan vaan virkistävältä.

Täysin ansaittua, ettei pystymetsästä Nosturiin "we want morea" huutamaan vedetty jonne-/haminabastiondeeppurple-yleisö päätynyt levylle.

LOL, tosi paljon olikin tuota yleisöä, joo. Näin yhden pikkuseurueen jotain hipstereitä siellä, he huutopuhuivat vain toisilleen ja joivat juomia kesäiset kledjut päällä. Hekin maksoivat lipun, hyvä niin! Muut olivatkin tulleet juuri sinne minne todella tiesivätkin tulla. Oot siis kuullu että yleisöstä huutona we want more etkä sen vuoksi huomannu miten porukka lauloi lyriikat läpi ja pui nyrkkiä koko keikan ajan, taisit missata senkin miten tyytyväisenä bändi esiintyi. Missähän ihmeen nurkassa mahdoit olla koko keikan? Kumminkin itse huusit we want more!

Ok, all good.

Blind Guardian - Legacy Of The Dark Lands

Post by Jussi »

Katoppas, se jonkin aikaa työstetty orkkalevy sai julkaisupäivän :o
bm wrote:Promising to be one of the most ambitious projects in metal's history, BLIND GUARDIAN's upcoming release will be well worth the wait. The idea to record an orchestral album originally formed in the minds of the two leading lights of the BLIND GUARDIAN universe — guitarist André Olbrich and singer Hansi Kürsch — during the 1990s when BLIND GUARDIAN started to use orchestral elements to enhance their opulent sound.

In recent years, the giant project started to take shape, and parallel to epic sound cascades, the lyrical concept was developed. For this, BLIND GUARDIAN was able to find support in German best-selling author Markus Heitz, whose new novel, "Die Dunklen Lande", is being released today (March 1). The book is set in 1629 and contains the prequel to BLIND GUARDIAN's opus "Legacy Of The Dark Lands", which will be released November 1.

The first trailer is available below.

"It's incredible that after 20 years we can actually finish this really exciting project," states Kürsch. "I am so happy and more than satisfied with it. Every single track unveils spectacular worlds and tells its very own story. With this album, our biggest creative dream finally becomes reality."

Kürsch's favorite author was equally excited about the collaboration. "It's really crazy: as pen-and-paper role players, we used to listen to BLIND GUARDIAN whilst playing," Heitz recalls. "And years later, I get to work together with the band, which was incredible. It's amazing, the things that can happen sometimes. Of course, I immediately agreed to join! This creative collaboration is very special for me."

The two protagonists have actively cultivated their creative exchange over the last five years.

"Markus is a great story teller; with 'Die Dunklen Lande', he created the perfect setting and with the mysterious Nicolas the perfect character for our complex works," Kürsch says. "His inventiveness seems to be almost infinite. Absolutely impressive and very inspiring."

Both sides tell in their own way the story of the mercenary Nicolas and his involvement in the Thirty Years' War. Heitz starts the story off in his book and BLIND GUARDIAN follows suit with "Legacy Of The Dark Lands".

What is the secret surrounding Nicolas? Will he be able to cast off the chains of war and how will his loved ones fare? On "Legacy Of The Dark Lands" via BLIND GUARDIAN'S TWILIGHT ORCHESTRA, Olbrich and Kürsch fulfill their longtime wish of emphasizing imposing choral singing and classical orchestral arrangements. It promises to be an opus unlike any other that the German quartet has ever released, or rather an opus as has never been heard ever before.

Hansi & Joni tekevät uutta levyä ensi vuodeksi 2020:
Century Media Records announces the signing of legendary metal band, Demons & Wizards, for a worldwide collaboration. Founded in 1999 by Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) and Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth), Demons & Wizards released two highly acclaimed albums in 1999 (Demons & Wizards) and 2005 (Touched By The Crimson King). Currently, the band is busy recording the highly anticipated yet-untitled third studio album, which is scheduled to be released in early 2020.

Hansi Kürsch comments: “It is a great pleasure and a big honor for me to finally become a full part of the Century Media family. Jon and I both feel that Century Media is the perfect match for our upcoming Demons & Wizards missions. And there will be plenty of them. Right at the moment we have not only finalized a re-boot of our first two albums, but are also working with full forces on the successor of “Touched by the Crimson King”. Good things are on its way. Expect nothing but the best and do not miss us on the road this summer, unless you want to risk another 20 years of waiting …”

Philipp Schulte (Century Media Records) adds: “To say that we are stoked to be finally working with Hansi and Jon on a new Demons & Wizards album would be an understatement. This is a very important signing to the label: A top-tier metal band and a great addition to the label’s roster. The fans have been patiently waiting for Demons & Wizards’ return. And now the time is near! We start our cooperation by re-releasing the band’s two classic albums, before they are conquering the festival stages all across Europe. And then, in the beginning of 2020, after 15 years of waiting, Demons & Wizards will finally return with a new studio album. It is time to hoist the sails for the storm to come. Welcome aboard!”

Prior to the release of the new studio album, Century Media Records will release Demons & Wizards’ sold out first two albums as reworked special editions. Remastered by Zeuss (Iced Earth, Queensrÿche, Sanctuary), these two releases will be out on June 7 as Limited Edition Digipak and limited Deluxe 2LP releases with bonus material and liner notes by both members. On March 29, the digital standard versions of the remastered albums will be made available in order to promote the band’s festival run in Europe.

BLIND GUARDIAN: 'Legacy Of The Dark Lands' Cover Artwork Unveiled

July 8, 2019

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/blind- ... -unveiled/

The cover artwork for BLIND GUARDIAN's upcoming album, "Legacy Of The Dark Lands", was created by renowned artist Gyula Havancsák and can be seen below.

Frontman Hansi Kürsch comments: "The cover artwork by Gyula Havancsák just perfectly fits our upcoming project and I think it's a true masterpiece. Gulya's love for details is incredible and his ability to see behind complex stories and reproduce them in art is amazing. We are more than happy since he could absolutely capture the monumental atmosphere of the music. Literally a perfect match!"

Promising to be one of the most ambitious projects in metal's history, BLIND GUARDIAN's upcoming release will be well worth the wait.

Itse putosin BG:n kyydistä A Night at the Operan jälkeen (joka on muuten hyvä levy, vaikka ei tietenkään Nightfallin veroinen). Jotakin on bändin soinnista kuitenkin kadonnut.

Se edellinen At The Edge Of Time sitä vastoin on taas hyvä levy ja mielestäni kehunsa ansainnut, vaikka pari tylsempää raitaa silläkin on. Mainitsemiesi väliin vielä jäävä 2006 Twist In The Myth on myös aivan kelpo levy.

https://youtu.be/WIP3tbE-gXA?fbclid=IwA ... 2nDvSEnFSU

Mutta komeasti kajahtava kertsi toi mieleen 2002 oopperaksi (kas!) nimetyn albumin, ehkä jopa itsensä And Then There Was Silencen :o

edit V: a Voice In The Dark oli kai pikemminkin sen albumin single, eikä (pelkkä) Sacred, kun eikös se ollut tuolloin ennakkoon jonakin pelisoundtrack-versiona julkaistu?

Pliisu oli kyllä.

Tosin Guardianin vahvuus eivät ainakaan viime vuosina ole olleet nämä "sinkkubiisit" (Fly, Sacred Worlds, Twilight of the Gods).

Toinen sinkku julki; toki ostan albumin heti kun sitä saa, mutta alkaa jo näin toisen biisin kohdalla hieman puuduttamaan tuo jatkuva epiikkatuuttaus. Kai sillä pitkäsoitolla on keskenään vaihteleviakin sävyjä sitten, toivottavasti.

Get it out of your system. Go full circle.

Tyylillisesti menee sinne A Night at the Operan paikkeille, mutta biisit ikään kuin puuttuvat taustalta.

Sinfonia / ooppera todellakin; pitää kokeilla sitä välispiikitöntä Legacy Of The Dark Landsin versiota vielä, jossa on ainoastaan 12 biisiä..
