Liliac! On kyllä järjettömän kova laulaja tuo tyttö. Iskä kuulemma jeesaa kaikenlaisessa. Tämä oma biisi on kyllä aivan hiton hyvä.

Tuntuu kyllä typerältä, hölmöltä suorastaan, kuinka välttelin kehnoa nimeä (Hell In The Club) etäältä vuosien ajan.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzbUCCPtqjU

Myöskin aivan uutta & tänään julkaistua Hell In The Clubia, feat. Elvenkingin vokalisti Damnagoras.

Brother Firetribe - Feel The Burn

Post by Jussi »

Nimittäin kaksi kolmesta parhaasta biisistä, Chariot Of Fire & Night Drive olivat niiltä tuttuja. Niiden mukaan kiilasi Candle In The Window, levyn toiseksi viimeisenä biisinä.

Yhtälailla tuttu Bring On The Rain ja uusi, mukava tuttavuus Arianne muodostavat levyn top-5:en; molemmat toimivat varmasti livenä!

Life is too short to be static. It’s extremely important for me to keep growing everyday and never get stuck in my comfort zone. I’ve had the honor to tour around the world together with Heat, my best friends, for 10 years but now I have decided to move on and try something new.

Heat has really been a place for me to grow as an individual, singer and frontman. The guys recruited this young Swedish Idol guy and believed more in me and my potential than I did myself. I am forever grateful for that. I really wish more people could experience being in a band, everything from traveling together, the connection between the members, the laughs, the fighting over a set list, the good days, the bad days, the unlimited amount of alcohol while also trying to coordinate and organize everything as a business, the living on a tour bus together with 0.5 m2 space available... It’s worth it!

Gentlemen it’s been a pleasure touring the world with you. I’ve learned a lot from you and you’ve made me stronger. When I’m on my death bed I will still laugh at some of the crazy shit we’ve done. I look forward to build more memories with you, just not collectively as Heat. I want to clarify that this decision is my decision alone and there are no hard feelings anywhere. We are all grown ups and respect each other’s decisions in life.⠀

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have supported me and Heat throughout the years. I will keep rocking in a different format and have a few things to present in the near future. If you want to follow me on that journey as well just hop on! I hereby hand over the microphone to my fellow rocker and original Heat singer Kenny Leckremo.

I will focus on building my entertainment company in Africa Hitchat, where we create entertainment and give talents in these markets a platform and the opportunity to be discovered. I will also focus on assisting my clients in my management company Hagenburg AB.

Muihin rock-aiheisiin; Voodoo Circle julkaisi eilen paluusinglensa David Readman keulilla, eli Herbie Langhansin ura Mat Sinnerin & Alex Beyrodtin kanssa jäi vain yhden levyn mittaiseksi. Aikamoista Wsnaken larppausta taas, vaikka Coverdale kuitenkin elää vielä :? babybabybaby vaan:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr17zA1UOFQ

Wildness on myös vaihtanut toiselle levylleen vokalistia, vähän kasvotonta edelleen mutta kuulostaa samalla paremmalta kuin s/t, tämän biisin perusteella; vilahtaako tuossa alun riffissä jotain Acceptia?

https://youtu.be/7dpnEtGf8o4

Melody on kyllä tosiaankin ihan huikea muija. Välillä voi tuossa We Are the Children-videossakin melkein nähdä taustalla Ronnien haamun tekemässä ihan samoja liikkeitä.

PORIN SERPICO JULKAISI KIEROUTUNEEN RAKKAUSTARINAN KERTOVAN VIDEON TULEVALTA LEVYLTÄÄN

Vuonna 2005 perustettu porilainen hard rock -yhtye Serpico on kuvannut musiikkivideon Midnight Cowboy -kappaleeseen, joka löytyy ensi vuoden aikana Rockshots Recordsin julkaisemalta Chosen Four -levyltä.

Yhtyeen laulaja Vee Dour kertoo kappaleen taustoista:

Julkaisu huomenna; videobiisillä on kelttimeisinkejä:

https://youtu.be/Ov61A9t7QZ8
1. You Still Burn, 2. Night Of Fire, 3. War Scars, 4. Time Is Right, 5. What Are We Fighting For, 6. Into The Future, 7. Freedom Wind, 8. Really Wheeling It, 9. Fallin Way Down, 10. In Her Eyes, 11. Children
_____________________________________________________________________
1986-1989 - In late 1986 ALIEN recorded two songs, “Headstrong" and "I’ll Survive" at Studio Bohus. Virgin Scandinavia signed the band and released those two singles. In the meantime, while touring Scandinavia, they wrote their debut album “Alien”. Virgin believed in ALIEN to appeal to audiences in further territories, and hence rewrote their contract into a worldwide deal! In late 1987, at ABBA's Polar Studio, the Swedes cut three songs with producer Mark Dearnley (AC/DC, Def Leppard). One being "Only One Woman" went on to top the charts and achieved platinum status. The B-side, "Somewhere Out There", also got to #1 in the charts, for instrumentals! After that, the group relocated to the renowned Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, with producer Chris Minto (Pat Benatar, Rick Springfield, Kiss), to record the record. Two songs were featured in the 1988 remake of the 50’s Sci-Fi movie "The Blob"; "Feel My Love", plus "Brave New Love" in the end credits. Back from the US, with "Only One Woman" sky-rocketing the charts, ALIEN brought the album on tour, beating box office records, being all over Swedish media. While in London doing promo, the group shot cover photos with Simon Fowler, and signed with Steve Barnett / Hard to Handle Management (Gary Moore, AC/DC). For the international launch, Virgin America made a new album cover and some remixes by Duane Baron and John Purdell. Songs were cut out to include the first single with new singer Pete Sandberg, "The Air That I Breathe"/"Now Love". Pete replaced Jim Jidhed in the fall of 1988, making his first appearance performing live on Swedish national TV.

1990-2005 - Tony Borg (g) and Pete recorded and released “Shiftin’ Gear” in 1990, ending the Virgin era. In 1992 Tony formed a Stockholm based ALIEN and made two albums at Eagle Records.

2005 - Tony and Jim got in touch and recorded “Dark Eyes” for Frontiers Rec.

2010 - The original line-up eventually reunited, a handful of festivals were chosen, e.g. Sweden Rock (Cruise + Festival), Getaway Rock, Firefest. A new single, “Ready To Fly“ (Manora Rec), was cut to promote the reunion. It went down great with the crowd and especially the response at the first Firefest performance (2011) made the band really consider making a new record.

2013 - The No Remorse/EMI re-issue CD (ltd 1000 copies) of “Alien“ (s/t Scandinavian) reached No.1 on the import album chart in Japan and sold out. EMI Music Sweden released the back catalogue, re-mastered for digital download with some unreleased demos as bonus. The "Alien - 25th Anniversary" 2-CD deluxe edition highlighted the celebration of ALIEN’s debut album, selling out as well. "Shiftin' Gear +4" CD (AOR Heaven) with bonus tracks shed some light on the fact that the original line-up wrote and pre-produced a sophomore album, before disbanding in late 1989. Recordings of the “Eternity” album started Aug 1st at Bohus Sound and continued throughout 2013, taking a break only to perform at the Firefest 10th Anniversary show. ALIEN decided to add a song, “I’m a Fighter”, written back in the 80’s by their L.A. co-writers Pam Barlow and Janet Morrison Minto, as an homage to their co-work on the debut. The regained contact with Pam and Janet led to them writing lyrics for this record as well.

2020 - On November 27th, 2020 Alien will release the album “Into the Future”. This record is taking the band from being merely an AOR band to more of a hard rock band with a heavier sound and more guitars. Creating “Into The Future” was really a journey back to the days of being free in a musical way to experiment with arrangement, sounds, melodies and just having a blast while doing it. Once again to the band's delight, Janet Morrison Minto has been a part of the lyrics writing and as always with great commitment. ALIEN is now Jim Jidhed, Tony Borg and Toby Tarrach (d). The album was recorded in various studios in Sweden incl. JM Studios in Gothenburg, Borg Music & Recording Studio in Stockholm, Music Family studio in Särö and Hope Studio in Gothenburg. Mix and mastering was handled by Erik Mårtensson (ECLIPSE) at Blowout Production in Sollerön.

Madam X, miksi bändi hyytyi yhteen levyyn 80-luvulla. Huonoa tuuria ja pukumiesten kusetusta? Olisiko bändillä ollut mahdollisuuksia nousta isoksi kasarihevin yhtyeeksi? Sitä kaikkea tuli pohdittua Levyhyllyn takaa -blogissa. Käy lukemassa.

Ronnie Atkins - Real 3/2021

Post by Jussi »

^ pari vuotta sitten näin Sweden Rockissa, mutta onneksi soittivat levytelttojen viereisellä lavalla, sillä biisien puute ajoi aika pian pläräilemään CD:itä. Toki siinä samassa sitten kuuli edelleen hyvin, kuinka High In Highschoolia laulatettiin & toistettiin riittävän monta kertaa :D

https://youtu.be/Q3oIp7dQx9k
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Danish vocalist Ronnie Atkins' new solo album, "One Shot". The acclaimed Pretty Maids and Nordic Union vocalist will release his new solo album on March 12, 2021. Fans can get their first taste of music with today's release of the track 'Real'.

"To be honest, I initially had no intention to do a solo album to begin with, but for various reasons and in particularly my own personal health situation I finally decided to have a crack at it," says Atkins.
"Around Easter 2020 and only some six weeks after I was told that everything seemingly looked very positive for my health, I was unfortunately diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and told it was incurable, which was devastating news for me. Needless to say, that was a total game changer and I went into kind of a panic situation for a while! But when the dust had settled. I realised there were two ways to approach the situation. I could sit down, accept the facts, and feel pity for myself or I could pull myself up, set some goals, pursue my dreams, and carry on living! And with fantastic back up from my family and true friends, I went for the latter!" continues Atkins.

With the global pandemic shutting down touring for the foreseeable future, Atkins knew a tour promoting the latest Pretty Maids album, "Undress Your Madness" (2019) was not going to be in the cards anytime soon. Suddenly, the timing for working on a new solo album seemed to have presented itself.

"Well, I couldn’t change the facts by any means. The whole world was on a lockdown and the future prospects of concerts were very uncertain and still is to this day! Basically, that meant that if I was gonna carry out the idea of a solo album, it had to be now since I don't necessarily have all the time in the world. I had all these ideas recorded on my iPhone that I felt were too good to never see the light of day and I was writing a lot at the time to help ease my frustrations," tells Atkins.
Ronnie's next step was to connect with producer (and Pretty Maids bandmate) Chris Laney to begin the work of putting these ideas together into songs. Chris is overseeing production, Jacob Hansen will mix, and musicians appearing on the album include, in addition to Laney, Allan Sørensen, Morten Sandager, Pontus Egberg, Anders Ringman, Pontus Norgren, Kee Marcello, Olliver Hartmann, John Berg, Linnea Vikström Egg, and Björn Strid.

"Not being able to handle the recordings myself since I’m old school and a complete idiot when it comes to IT, Pro Tools, etc. I hooked up with my PM friend and firesoul Chris Laney, who literally cheered me up and convinced me to go ahead with it. So, I decided to get moving and literally recorded my ideas on either piano or guitar and with a mellotron click to keep the beat and the accompanying vocal. Then I would send these along to Chris, who did the instrumentation in Stockholm and would then send back demos to me. Then, I recorded the vocals first, which is totally the opposite of what you’d normally do, but based on the uncertainty of my health situation, I wanted to get them down. After that we did the basic tracks, drums, guitars, keys, backing vocals, etc. Odd way of doing it, for me at least, but it worked. And so, this procedure slowly moved on during the summer and finally turned into an album of 12 new songs," explains Atkins.

"I wouldn’t have been able to carry out this project without the enthusiasm of Chris, who has been my constant partner in this project from day one. On top of that, I had the pleasure of working with a variety of great musicians/singers such as Pontus Norgren, Kee Marcello, Olliver Hartmann, Pontus Egberg, Linnea Vickström Egg, Björn Strid, and at last, but not at least, my PM relatives Allan Sørensen and Morten Sandager," continues Atkins.

"Musically and lyrically this album has been a different process for me, considering everything going on. Musically, it could have gone in various directions. It’s always a question of what you want it to be. A good song is a good song, so it’s really a matter of how it is packaged. But I decided to make it appeal to the fans, the supporters who’ve been following me for almost 40 years, so this is basically a melodic rock album with a heavy twist. Lyrically, it also has a different approach. I found it hard to write about sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll, etc. due to the situation I’m wrapped up in, so I guess it turned out a bit more personal and maybe melancholic at times. But it reflects my thoughts at the given time these lyrics were written," concludes Atkins.

While the creation of "One Shot" is bittersweet for a variety of reasons, it's nonetheless another thoroughly wonderful melodic hard rock offering from one of the masters of the genre. Look for it in March 2021!
