Aivan jumalaisen kuuloinen King edelleen! Biisikin vallan mainio. Tuskaan ukko on saatava, maksoi mitä maksoi.
Never Ending Hill on loistava biisi, mutta miinuksena tuossa (kuten koko levyllä) on, että King vetää levyllä todella vähän korkeita osuuksia ja nekin lähtee heikosti.

Kingi on elämänsä kunnossa ja korkeatkin äänet lähtevät nykyään todella upeasti (uskomatonta mihin mies yltää kaikkien terveysongelmiensa jälkeen tällä ikää, valovuosia paremmin kuin 2006-2007), silti eniten diggaan Kingin keskiäänellistä laulua kuten parhaiten kuullaan esim. Into The Unknown -levyllä, The Ghost Of Change ja Holy Water näin yhtäkkiä mainittuna.
MF olisi nyt kesällä hienoa saada Suomeenkin, sitten uuden levyn myötä KD syksymmällä.

Itselle Never Ending Hilliin on aina tavallaan kiteytynyt koko Give Me Your Soul...Please -levy: ihan jees, mutta aika lähellä heikointa Kingiä.

Ei kai In Flames vie toista pääesiintyjä paikkaa?? 32 bändiä julkistamatta ja Mercyful Fate ainoa must see bändi, tulee hintaa yhden orkesterin näkemisestä.

Tosin mikä kenellekin on 'must see' -itelle sellainen tuli tässä pompsissa Praying Mantisin myötä, jonka vuoksi olen useasti katsonut Lontoon tai hollannin tmv. reissua erikseen, että pääsisi ees kerran näkemäänAndyLaRocque kirjoitti: ↑11 Joulu 2019, 08:41Ei kai In Flames vie toista pääesiintyjä paikkaa?? 32 bändiä julkistamatta ja Mercyful Fate ainoa must see bändi, tulee hintaa yhden orkesterin näkemisestä. Mee kattoon MF jonnekin muualle?

KING DIAMOND On Upcoming Reissues: 'We're Trying To Go Back To The Absolute Original Stuff'
April 10, 2020

KING DIAMOND On Upcoming Reissues: 'We're Trying To Go Back To The Absolute Original Stuff'
On April 24, KING DIAMOND will release CD and LP versions of the classic albums "Abigail" and "Fatal Portrait" via Metal Blade Records. They will be followed by CD and LP versions of "Conspiracy" (May 1), "Them" (May 1), "The Eye" (May 15), and "In Concert 1987" (May 15), also via Metal Blade. The vinyl editions feature spined sleeves with an insert and download card; the CDs contain a mini-LP CD-insert with a small fold-out poster.
In a video message announcing the reissues, KING DIAMOND's namesake frontman said (see below): "Metal Blade has acquired from Warner all the old catalogs from both KING DIAMOND and MERCYFUL FATE. All those old albums will be reissued, but not like what you would think. 'Cause we're trying to go back to the absolute original stuff when it came out the first time. I personally think it sounds much, much better than the gold remasters that was squooshed with compression and limiters. But the originals sound really good still today. They're gonna maintain the original dynamics, the clarity and all that stuff, that came out the first time they were released. I was pushing for it coming out with that old sound. I want those to be the ones, if you wanna go buy old MERCYFUL FATE and old KING DIAMOND, I want you to get the best you can possibly get — for my own sake as well. I wanna be proud of what we've done. So look out for all that stuff. There's some gems coming up."

HANK SHERMANN Has Written 'Six Or Seven' New Songs For MERCYFUL FATE's Next Album
May 2, 2020
https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/hank- ... ext-album/
Guitarist Hank Shermann of influential Danish metallers MERCYFUL FATE has confirmed that he is working on the first new music from the band in more than two decades.
Last August, it was announced that MERCYFUL FATE would reunite for an unspecified number of concerts throughout Europe and North America during the summer of 2020. However, with much of the world on lockdown due to the ongoing global pandemic, all major live events have been canceled or postponed, including most European and American rock and metal festivals.
Speaking about how the coronavirus crisis has affected MERCYFUL FATE's touring plans, Shermann told Australia's Heavy (hear audio below): "This totally [knocked] out all shows for 2020, I predict, and as it looks now, all MERCYFUL FATE shows look to be canceled. We might have an option in November [to do something], maybe, but who knows how it looks at that time?"
Asked if he is using the coronavirus downtime to work on new music, Shermann said: "First of all, King [Diamond, vocals] is living in Texas, in the States. I'm living here north of Copenhagen, in Denmark. The drummer [Bjarne T. Holm] is also here, so I work with him in the rehearsal room shaping the new songs. The other guitar player [Mike Wead] is in Stockholm, Sweden, and our new bass player [Joey Vera] is in Los Angeles. So everything is [being done via] Dropbox or e-mails."
He continued: "I have been working at least the last one and a half years on new MERCYFUL FATE songs, and I think there's about six or seven [tracks that are] about to be ready. The first song has been sent to King after it's been mixed and all the guys played on the song. So I sent the files to Joey in Los Angeles; he did the bass. And then I sent the same files to Mike in Stockholm; he did his solos. And now King has the first song, evaluating for the vocals to be added. And then we will rearrange certain parts to be twice as long and stuff like that."

King Diamond has embodied the spirit of the spookiest season for metalheads for decades. In this Knotfest interview, he talks October holiday traditions, supernatural energies, and his current work writing two different albums.
https://knotfest.com/king-diamond-the-p ... halloween/
"We’re taking it very easy and not taking any risks, and the good thing is we have so much work anyway to keep us busy. I have to work on two different albums. It’s gonna go on until it’s done and otherwise, we just go and buy groceries, or take a drive every now and then to get out of the house. I’ve recently moved into a new house with a studio upstairs which is the best sounding room I have ever been in. I have very high expectations for what we are doing now. You can hear on the new song “Masquerade of Madness” as well that it is back to the old vocal style where anything goes. All vocals are lead vocals in my mind. That’s how it was in the old days. Sometimes you can be talked into leaving the choirs as backing vocals or whatever but that is not how I feel. I will sing a lead and then the next part of that lyric will be sung by a choir to the right, then a choir to the left takes over the next line, where it is always moving around taking on different effects. That is what I love, that craziness, because that makes it even more theatrical to listen to. We are back into that, full blast."
...
"Everything has been thrown around by how things have happened obviously. Mercyful Fate will be playing live first, doing these European festivals that were supposed to be being played now. We’re in Denmark for rehearsals first and then there are eight or so festivals in Europe, then we have to fly all the gear over to the US to play Las Vegas. There will be a couple of new songs from the Mercyful Fate album in the set next summer, which otherwise will just be from the EP, “Melissa” and “Don’t Break the Oath”. Totally old, with a couple new songs added to it. The other side of New Year’s should be the new King Diamond coming out, and then touring, touring, touring till we don’t tour anymore. The virus decides more than we do ourselves but it’s not a wasted year for us as we can do the albums in our own time without having to book time in someone else’s studio which really I am so glad for. I can get in here at 3 in the morning and start recording with no one bothering me."
